They Have Square Watermelons In Japan
Zentsuji is a small town in southern Japan where these cubed watermelons are grown. The watermelons cost 10,000 yen, or about $83 if sold in the United States. The farmers use cube shaped glass cases to shape the fruit forcing it to grow in a square shape. The reason for the square shape is to save space. The square melons fit perfectly into the special refrigerators of the Japanese who can actually afford them.
These watermelons are currently not sold in the U.S.. We wouldn't be surprised if rappers started giving them as gifts. At $83 each, these watermelons may become the next big thing in upper class America. Don't be surprised if these cubed melons show up on American soil. The sight of a square watermelon is very intriguing.
