Victoria's Secret Founder Kills Himself, Company Uses African KidsTo Pick Cotton For Their Products! (8min.)

The founder of Victoria's Secret was a man named Roy Raymond. Roy was embarrassed to buy sexy lingerie for his wife and decided to open a store of his very own. He borrowed $40,000 from a few family members, and got another $40,000 from a bank loan. In June of 1977 the first Victoria's Secret was opened and earned $500,000 the first year. By 1982 Roy sold the company to Leslie Wexner (Owner of The Limited Clothing Co.) for a small $4 million. 10 years after Roy sold Victoria Secret, the company has profits topping $1 billion. The company became the largest lingerie retailer in the United States. Roy committed suicide by leaping off The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA in 1993.

*Victoria's Secret uses cotton exclusively picked by poor children of West Africa in country called Burkina Faso. These children, as young as 6, pick cotton exclusively for a company contracted by the Victoria's Secret company. Burkina Faso has the lowest literacy rate in the entire world. These children eat maybe once a day. Victoria's Secret supports child slavery. See for yourself.
